Google, NTT DoCoMo to Develop Cell Phone Software, Nikkei Says
NTT DoCoMo Inc., the supplier of
mobile-phone services in Japan, will incorporate Internet search
and e-mail functions from Google Inc. into its ''I-mode'' Web
service, Nikkei English Language News reported, without citing anyone.
DoCoMo is attempting to turn to the demands of users who
access the Web through their cell phones, Nikkei said. Google,
the world's biggest hunt engine, trails Yahoo! Nipponese Islands Corp. in
the Japanese market, Nikkei said, and is trying to strengthen
services and advertisement trading operations there.
The companies are working to better layout in improver to
integrating hunt characteristics with telephone software, Nikkei said. I-mode customers will be able to utilize Google tools, including
scheduling and photo-saving features, beginning early adjacent year,
the news service said.
Little customers, the core users of mobile Internet
services, have got defected to KDDI Corp. and Softbank Mobile River Corp,
causing Tokyo-based DoCoMo to lose subscribers, Nikkei said. DoMoCo have been the lone bearer to lose endorsers since the
introduction of figure portability in late 2006, Nikkei said.
