Indiabulls, Unitech May Get Mobile Phone Licenses, Times Says
Indiabulls Real Number Estate Ltd. and
Unitech Ltd. are among 16 companies that may have government
licenses to offer mobile telephone services in India, the Economic
Times reported, without saying where it got the information.
The telecom section will publish letters of purpose in the
next two years to the companies that applied for government
licenses before Sept. 25, the newspaper said.
The companies can offer mobile telephone services only after
they pay the licence fees of 16.5 billion Sri Lanka rupees ($418 million)
and the authorities allocates them frequences for wireless
services, the Economic Times reported.
