Qwest Communications International will get offering Verizon Radio French telephones and services beginning this summertime under a five-year agreement. The trade is a blow to Dash Nextel, which had been supplying the service to Qwest clients after the Denver-based company sold off its ain radio service a few old age ago.

A spokeswoman for Qwest said the company will work with Verizon Radio to develop new merchandises and services "that return advantage of the convergence of Qwest's landline web with Verizon Wireless' radio network."

Qwest clients will be able to buy the service separately or as a piece of a package of services from Qwest. Verizon Wireless, which is an equity partnership between Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group, will do its full line of French telephones available to subscribers.

In August 2003, Qwest signed with Dash to supply cell telephone service after Qwest, which had been under fiscal pressure level in the aftermath of the bursting of the engineering bubble, sold off its ain mobile telephone operation. The Dash service will go on until February, although users can subscribe up for the Verizon service before that.

Sprint and Verizon Radio use the same CDMA substructure and that may ease the transfer.

Residential clients who mark up for separate radio services will be billed directly by Verizon, while endorsers choosing radio as portion of a Qwest package of services will be billed by Qwest.

Qwest said it will work with Verizon Radio to offer for endeavor and authorities radio contracts while also collaborating on the development of converged services. Last year, Qwest and Verizon won pieces of the federal government's $48 billion Networx contract.
